Our founder

Mr. Eldridge King

On April 1, 1970, Eldridge John King founded Century Twenty-One Rehabilitation Services (C21RS) with a bold vision that was decades ahead of its time. An artist, poet, author, skilled craftsman, entrepreneur, philanthropist, husband, father, and community leader, Mr. King believed that lasting change begins with opportunity, not dependency.

After experiencing the barriers that limited economic opportunity for many African Americans, he chose a different path. Rather than accepting those limitations, he dedicated his life to helping others build their own futures through education, vocational training, entrepreneurship, and meaningful work. He believed that every community already possessed its greatest resource: the knowledge, talent, and determination of its people.

The original mission of C21RS reflected that belief by connecting skilled professionals with individuals eager to learn valuable trades, develop careers, and achieve economic independence. More than fifty years later, that philosophy remains the foundation of our work. While the industries have evolved, our mission has not. Today,

C21RS continues to transform expertise into opportunity by partnering with professionals, entrepreneurs, educators, and community leaders to build workforce programs, strengthen businesses, preserve history, and create lasting economic opportunity for future generations.

Guided by the values he instilled in me, I aim to uphold the integrity and vision he built, while also infusing my own ideas and innovation.
